This year the Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 22nd October 2018 (more information will be forthcoming regarding the time and location of this meeting).
The MHCTas Board is advertising for new members. Applicants need to commit to only five meetings a year, although it is hoped that members would also contribute to executive functions or participate as a member of a sub-committee. Meetings are held on a Tuesday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and telephone conference facilities are available. Each position is voluntary and there is no remuneration but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
The key attribute of a Board member is an understanding of and commitment to carers. Carers play an important, unpaid and often unacknowledged role in supporting people with mental illness and carers are best placed to understand these challenges. For this reason, the MHCTas Constitution provides that at least half of Board members should be carers.
If you believe that you can make a contribution to MHCTas – apply to become a board member. If you are require any further information, please contact me on 0409 871 037.
