Mental Health Carers Tasmania in partnership with Sexual Awareness Support Service are offering a three hour education session AT NO COST for families, friends and unpaid carers of a person with mental ill health.
At the end of this session participants should expect to have increased awareness of sexual violence and its effects on people including vulnerable people and children; learn protective behaviour skills which keep children safe from sexual harm; develop knowledge in harm prevention and how to keep vulnerable people sexually safe; build understanding of legal consent and ethical sexual decision making; and develop skills in responding to disclosures of sexual harm in a trauma informed way.

Placements are limited to 15 participants with a minimum of 8 participants required. There may be placements for students, volunteers and paid employees of organisations/businesses at a subsidised rate of $40 per person – bookings and inquiries only by phone: 6228 7448. First preference will be given to friends, families and unpaid carers.
