The Mental Health Council of Tasmania is running a free skill-building workshop for mental health consumers and their unpaid carers and supporters. The workshop will focus on self-advocacy – what it means, how to do it, and the difference between self-advocacy and ‘consumer advocacy’.
They will also introduce you to a new website, Reimagine:Today (mental health, my recovery and the NDIS), and have a group discussion about the site. You’ll be able to provide feedback to help them make the site more relevant and useful to mental health consumers and their unpaid carers.
Anyone who has lived experience of mental illness and recovery, or has lived experience of caring for a person with mental illness, is welcome to attend. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided free of charge. Places are limited, please book early!
